In the book Night by Elie Wiesel, Eliezer Wiesel narrates the legendary tale of what happened to him and his father during the Holocaust. In the introduction, Wiesel talks about how his village in Seghet was never worried about the war until it was too late. Wiesel’s village received advanced notice of the Germans, but the whole village ignored it. Throughout the entire account, Wiesel has many traits that are key to his survival in the concertation camps.
Ever since humans came to be, they have done many things to ensure their survival. It’s the reason why we humans have evolved as much as we have. Humans have invented devices, accomplished many challenges, and have even relied on nothing but willpower to survive. When somebody survives a tragic event they are left with some terrifying memories that haunt them forever, but a few survivors are courageous enough to share their experience. Obviously, one of the shared experiences is the book called Night by Elie Wiesel.
Primary or Secondary? Should survival be your primary goal in life? I believe that unless you're in a life or death situation survival shouldn't be your main goal. A very good example of a life or death situation is the holocaust, The book “Night” by Elie Wiesel describes his experience as jew during that tragic event moving from concentration camp to concentration camp eating scarce amounts of food. In many cases other goals seem to overshadow survival like protecting family, For example, in “Night by Elie Wiesel he should be thinking about himself however he gives his food to his father who is a hindrance to him at this point because there are going to come times were survival is going to overpowered by other goals.

The book Night by Elie Wiesel , takes place during World War II , in parts of Germany , Poland and several major concentration camps. The story is about how the author Elie Wiesel and his father have a grueling time in the concentration camps. Here, many individuals make a significant impact on Elie’s life, either positive or negative. Elie’s father leaves a positive effect on him , while other father and son relationships and prisoners with power have a negative effect.
Live to Achieve Your Goals Survival should always be the primary goal. Elie Wiesel in the book "Night" lived to achieve his goals. Although some people might think that survival should not always be the primary goal, it isn't true because surviving is the main one in the long run, we think about how we will live if we achieve some kind of goal. And also survival isn't only keeping yourself alive it's also the things that keep you going and motivate you to live, meaning its the primary goal in life. Some people may think that survival isn’t a goal, it is an instinct.
Survival: All That Matters If one were stuck in a survival situation with literally thousands of other people just like them, who’s survival would they look out for? Their fellow man, or them self? Elie Wiesel is faced with this very decision during the Holocaust of the 1940s, which he recollects in his memoir, Night.
Another reason why I believe that most people will form into good is because continuously throughout the novel, there are people who despite all the hardships and the difficulties with survival remain good-hearted and care for each other. Elie Wiesel faces many difficult decisions, many of which have to do with his family. After he sees a prisoner in his group leave his decrepit father mercilessly to increase his chance of survival, Elie realizes he must treat his father with great respect and kindness. Wiesel shows great solicitude about his father’s well-being and cherishes him. Elie says to himself, “Oh God, Master of the Universe, give me the strength never to do what Rabbi Eliahu's son has done".
The Night takes place in Europe during World War II, like Elie most families were became separated because of death, ghettos, and concentration camps all created by the Nazi party which was an organization which planned to completely erase the Jewish population. The Night written by Elie Wiesel is a memoir about his time during World War II. Elie’s father never payed attention to him their relationship was substandard. This greatly changes as they are forced into concentration camps and must survive together. Throughout the story it is discovered that family plays an important role in not just surviving but living too.
The empathy he felt for his father is what drove him to stay alive, to fight for his life. Without his father, he would have given into exhaustion long before the American tanks arrived at the camp. Elie's father gave him strength, therefore giving him resilience. Strong people are resilient people; it took everything Elie had to keep himself alive. In the times he wanted so badly just to lie down, to give up it was his father's presence which kept him alive.
Survival of the fittest The theme of survival of the fittest is shown throughout the memoir Night. Night was written by Holocaust survivor Elie Wiesel. In this memoir Elie explains as well as shows survival of the fittest, by sharing his story of his struggles along with countless other Jews during the holocaust. He illustrated the theme of survival of the fittest in the memoir night through the situations of Elie lying about his age during selection, the Rabbi's son leaving his father, during the death march, and the son killing his father over a crust of bread.
Humanity takes form in many different ways throughout o society. Many argues that society does not have any humanity, but they are very mistaken. Humanity is very common in society people just show it in different ways this can go from helping someone to just being there for one another. Humanity can be shown through safety,hope, and reuniting people.

The human condition is a very malleable idea that is constantly changing due to the current state of mankind. In the memoir Night by Elie Wiesel, the concept of the human condition is displayed in the worst sense of the concept, during the Holocaust of WWII. During this time, multiple groups of people, most notably European Jews, were persecuted against and sent to horrible hard labor and killing centers such as Auschwitz. In this memoir, Wiesel uses complex figurative language such as similes and metaphors to display the theme that a person’s state as a human, both at a physical and emotional level, can be altered to extreme lengths, and even taken away from them, under the most extreme conditions.
The road to a relationship with God is not straight, it is ever changing with challenges and curves and ups and downs. This is a main theme in the memoir Night, by Elie Wiesel, where Elie has a struggling relationship with God. He thinks that God has abandoned him and his dad so he does not feel the need to continue his relationship with God. Elie was excited about his faith but the holocaust makes him feel angry and confused with God. Elie 's faith excites him from a young age and he wants to learn more about God.
Family is essential when going through an extremely dark, depressing, lonely period of time, like the Wiesel's did. Elie and his father experienced things that are unimaginable and couldn’t have made it as far as they did without each other. Throughout the book Night the author Elie Wiesel is trying to accomplish the goal of making people understand that there will be difficulty throughout life and family will be there to make the hard times easier. Elie uses imagery, symbolism, and flashbacks to explain the importance of family after his tragic trauma.
