The book “ Fault in Our Stars” is a tragic love story of Hazel Grace Lancaster and Augustus Waters. They met at a support group for cancer Hazel thereby doctor's orders and Gus supporting his friend Isaac suffering from eye cancer. Gus is recovering from osteosarcoma Hazel suffering from thyroid cancer. Gus bravely hits on Hazle and asks her to come over to his house. Hazel and Gus swap their favorite books Hazles " An Imperial Affliction”. Gus also comes to love the book AIA and they both show a great interest in the author Peter Van Houten and have lingering questions about what happens after the book. After returning home things quickly went downhill for Gus. Gus became very sick and was even put in the hospital and returned home in a wheelchair. One night Hazle receives a call from Gus with him crying on the phone asking for her to come help him at the gas station. When hazle arrives she finds him in his car and he had an infection. After that Gus asked Hazle to write a eulogy for him and one night haze Hazel and Isaac come down to the "heart of Jesus"(church) and read the eulogy out loud to him. He said that he plans to attend his actual funeral as a ghost but just in case he wanted a pre-funeral. Gus sadly dies days later after the reading. At Gus's funeral, she reads her eulogy and is shocked at the appearance of Peter Van Houten. Peter gives Hazel a letter, but out of spite of Peter Hazel crumples it up and throws it at the bottom of a car. Days Later talking to Isaac she learns that this letter was not from Peter but from Gus.
