The fourth and final part shows a farmer Mariano rejecting to participate in the revolution. Right after he rejects the suggestion, his home is destroyed and his son is killed by bombs sent by the government. He joins the rebels and leads them to Havana to proclaim the revolution. He was driven by anger towards the government, questioning their right to ruin his life and kill his son. Social inequality is what drove all conflicts within each one of these stories.

The increased popularity of the sisters, and the revolution, was important for their final sacrifices of their lives. The sisters final sacrifice used the popularity they had gained through their other sacrifices, and allowed the people to have a final push to join the revolution and fight Trujillo. As we all know this movement that was established when the sisters were killed eventually lead to the assassination of Trujillo, only six months after the Mariposas deaths. Despite the fact that most people consider the Mirabal sisters as a driving force for the revolutions victories, there are still a few people that would argue that the sisters had virtually nothing to do with the actual downfall of Trujillo, as they were dead at the time. Even though these accusations are partially true, what these critics fail to realize is that, the actions of the sisters didn’t directly end Trujillo’s regime, but instead they influenced others into joining the revolution and causing Trujillo’s downfall .
Trujillo is the one who has complete control. The theme of power is shown by trujillos controlling ways, how He kills all the people who oppose him, and how he spies on people's every move. Trujillo's controlling ways show the theme of power in many ways. One way would be the fact that he has the ability tell people what they are to do and what they are not to do.
I say, “Don’t even think it. Next to dancing, that’s my strong suit.” The story Angus Bethune by Chris Crutcher and the story Lamb to the Slaughter by Roald Dahl share many similarities and differences. One element where the two stories share similarities and differences is in the main character or protagonist in the books.

Over the years he would hone a style that would become progressively more personal and complex. In Montoneros, for example, he avoids a journalistic bent and instead gives the film a “human” feel and narrative focus. Far from weakening the political side of the story, this personal approach ends up bringing the political into even sharper relief. To that end, the director chooses Ana Testa as his protagonist, a Montonera militant and ESMA survivor whose husband the military disappeared. Her story reveals the personal and very human drama that many militants experienced.

Edgar Allan Poe 's “The Raven” and Roald Dahl 's “Lamb to the Slaughter” are two pieces of text with a considerable amount of similarities and many clear differences. Through the reading of both text, the reader can clearly spot the differences within the use of diction and the overall point of view through the plot. Diction is a big part of the authors understanding, and the events that take place give some slight connections towards each others piece. In both Poe’s “The Raven” and Dahl’s “Lamb to the Slaughter”, the overall ability to comprehend the way we as individuals deal with the death of a loved one are as mixed as the sociopathic Mary Maloney and the grieving Poe as they obtain and suffer through different experiences which is mixed through the authors use of diction and the overall plot of each story. Within these two pieces there lies a considerable amount of detail to be able to understand and connect the slight similarities within the realization of the characters situations.
After reading and writing the three stories, articles, and videos I learned that they all share a common central idea. All three stories, articles, and videos share one central idea which is that all the wives killed their husbands. To explain my point, I'm going to talk about the central idea of lamb to the slaughter, 48 hours video, and the daily mail article. First of all, in the story of lamb to the slaughter the husband tells his wife that he doesn't want to be with her which eventually leads her to kill him. After the husband told her that he doesn't want to be with her anymore "she couldn't feel anything at all- except a slight nausea and a desire to vomit".

Lamb to the Slaughter is an action packed short story about a wife who is let down by her husband and proceeds to kill him as an act of revenge. Obviously much more happens in this story consisting of humour, action, mystery and irony. Roald Dahl is a master of writing short stories in ways that attract readers, draw them into what is happening through using literary elements and universal themes to make the story relatable to the readers. In this story the main literary elements were foreshadowing, situation and dramatic irony, imagery and symbolism which really drew me in and kept me attached to the story. Literary elements are what make a story powerful and attracts readers to continue reading in the story and in this story they highlight the universal theme of Revenge and Betrayal.
