What is Federalism? Federalism is a system of government in which a written constitution divides the powers of government on a territorial basis, between a central government and several regional governments usually called states or provinces. Federalism works in some cases but not always. There are certain factors Federalism can’t always meet. Federalism sometimes don’t work because of the central government or the states. But, Federalism allows local action in matters of local concern and national action in matters of wider concern. Personally, I think at first Federalism was working during the Hurricane Katrina event in New Orleans,LA. I thought it worked because for a numerous of reasons. For example, before the locals were doing good trying to make plans to put in place like the highway evaluation plan. The state was Gathering supplies and opening shelters. The airplanes were also on guard. The Federal government was strategizing with the state and getting the needs for the state. The locals were verging people into lower areas of the state to be safe. There were a mandatory evaluation plan by Bush.The police was helping people out of their house. The state was evaluating from the state. They said “Katrina took out all cell phones and cut the road networks.” Fema are pulling accommodations and ice. They are opening the superdoom for the state. Classic military tactics that Katrina took were take the enemies out. So far some people are starving and dieing. Some people are also getting stuck on bridges, But where is Federalism taking
