seeing as though, according to Renzetti (2013) “Feminist criminology”, women became a part of criminological research but received no credit for it. It was argued that Feminism was a movement the focused on white women. When talking about “women’s rights” for feminist, they were not counting women’s rights towards African American women(Hooks,1981,1984). As an African American woman, we are seen as the lowest class. These women are very esteemed and respectable women. While talking with them, the topic of feminism and the patriarchal and phallocratic society came up. My mentor then starts to tell some stories about her past experiences with men in higher positions than she was, who flirted with her. Women, for centuries have been defined by the curves of their bodies and not the capacity of their brains. But when will this stop?
