Critique of Marie Ingabire’s “The Struggle of Being a Woman in Police Services” In Marie Ingabire’s paper “The Struggle of Being a Woman in Police Services”, they examine Elizabeth McSheffrey’s article “Inquest into death of Vancouver police officer Nicole Chan…”. Inagabire discusses Nicole Chan’s devastating suicide and how the discrimination she faced as a woman in policing led up to the tragedy. They focus on issues of discrimination and harassment in the workplace. It was concluded that discrimination against women would always be a recurring issue within the police force.
Oxford Dictionaries define crimes as an action that constitutes an attack that may be put on trial by the state and is punishable by law. Most societies have a percentage of crime rate, whatever their races, religions, cultures, etc., and this damages essential fundamentals and limits the development in many ways. Crime has an old history; it has existed from the past and still happening until now with no expected ending. The criminal personality grows with the time, starting with stealing a piece of candy and ending with a war destroying a complete nation. A criminal is someone that commits criminal like activities such as murder, theft, arson, robbery, etc. with the intent to harm another person and/or pursue personal goals. There is no constraint as to who can be a criminal; criminals do not have to be a specific race, gender, age, or particular sexuality. Some, if not most, criminals commit crimes due to either have learned the behavior, have the ability to do so freely, or their connection with social bonds.
Women get treated differently in a prison system, but they also experience their sentences differently too. For woman the facilities are smaller and further away from their love ones. This is in hope that the women will rehabilitated so they are not away anymore. In most cases woman are serving shorter sentences than men are for the same type of crime. This again is in hopes that the woman will change her ways so that she can go home to her children.
The Every Women Matters Program was a program that was put in place to for women to get early cervical and breast cancer screening testing done. This program was for low-income women in the state of Nebraska. Seven different private practices participated in this program. This paper will discuss the reason the program was put into place as well as the reasons it failed.
Feminist criminology has been around since the late 1960's and started out centered on speculations brought upon traditional theories of crime. Most traditional theories didn't necessarily ignore women in the criminal justice system yet they generalized crime and what causes a person to turn to crime so that women who commit crimes are overlooked by the generalization. Not only are the numbers skewed when you look at gender in criminal justice offenders but there is also a certain bias in the criminal justice systems workers. In the movie Vera Drake there is a clear example of this when the investigator and the officer come into the movie. Is our justice system corrupted, racist or is it perfect? Did you know African Americans now constitute for nearly 1 million of the total 2.3 million incarcerated population? This is probably the case because Blacks are incarcerated six times the rate of whites. African Americans are directly targeted and punished in a much more aggressive way than white people. I believe race, ethnicity and gender disparities play a large role in how our system is executed.

Tougher Punishments for Rougher Players Since 2000, NFL players have been committing increasingly serious crimes, considerable amounts of which have been against women. Misogyny, a hatred of women (“Merriam Webster Dictionary”), is an issue among NFL players, as displayed by their crimes against women. Although some people argue that misogyny in the NFL is not a problem and does not need attention, harsher punishments for offenders need to be implemented because excused misogynistic crimes leads to domestic violence and sexual assault, and it teaches children that misogyny and the crimes that come with it are not a big deal when they are.
