A criminal is someone that commits criminal like activities such as murder, theft, arson, robbery, etc. with the intent to harm another person and/or pursue personal goals. There is no constraint as to who can be a criminal; criminals do not have to be a specific race, gender, age, or particular sexuality. Some, if not most, criminals commit crimes due to either have learned the behavior, have the ability to do so freely, or their connection with social bonds. A pair of criminals, widely known as the Kray Twins, aimed to create fear in everyone that may or may not have crossed their path. These twins became the most feared criminals with their violent acts of aggression and gang like style within the 1960s. The Kray twins were born Reginald and Ronald Kray, identical schizophrenic twins birthed in Easton, London to Charlie and Violet Kray. These twins grew up on intense streets of Easton which were filled with crime, street trade, and violence, following in their grandfather’s footsteps; there was no real acknowledgement of their mental illness. The boys were quiet different in personality and sexual orientation but that did not prevent them from building, securing, and protecting their empire and themselves. This theory is also based upon four concepts or elements found with social bonds: attachment, commitment, belief, and involvement, all of which contribute to criminal behavior. Self-control also plays a part in this theory because if a person does not possess self-control, the person is more prone to engaging in criminal activity because they do not want to violate social norms or hurt others.
