Radical Criminology, Feminist Criminology and Peacemaking Criminology are three theories that all look to drastically change our judicial system and our very way of life. Although they are three different theories, their lines are blurred in their foundations and beliefs, mostly a foundation of capitalism is bad. At the same time all three theories have their distinct points of view and desired outcomes. I believe that the three theories are more alike than they are different, although there are some differences. Radical Criminology grew out of Marxist Criminology. Radical Criminology beliefs are founded in that crime is a result of social conditions that empower the wealthy and rewarded those that are in control of the political system while punishing and oppressing those who are not wealthy or in control of the political system. (Schmalleger, pg. 152) Radical Criminology holds the same belief as Marxist Criminology, that there are at least two social classes, the bourgeoisie class or the haves and the proletariat class or the have-nots. Radical and Peacemaking Criminology are both theories that attribute Richard Quinney with a good deal of contribution. None of the theories have made any significant changes to our judicial system or our punishment system. Radical and Feminist Criminology both point to our economic system and our government as the problem. I would agree that there are things like term limits that would prevent abuse of power and the changes of there being a ruling class. I also believe that the system we have is far better than the one proposed by Peacemaking Criminology, even with the faults that are part of our judicial system. As I stated at the beginning, I believe that there are many more similarities than differences within these three
