In the short story of Harrison Bergeron by Kurt Vonnegut Jr. his choice of figurative language and negative themes left the reader in suspense. The first type of figurative language that Vonnegut used was alliteration, his purpose was to compare society. The reason why his stories seem so realistic is because he uses hyperbole. When he used it it gave a sense on how big harrison really was.
