The Fun Career of Filmmaking: Annotated Bibliography
Filmmaking is the process of making a film, or in better terms, making motion pictures come to life. Filmmaking is very important to the entertainment industry. I personally have loved movies for as long as I can remember. Film has always been a big part of my life, and I want it to be my future. How to get into the film industry-school There are so many jobs in the film industry, but some people wonder where they start. Film school is the best option. There are many film schools to choose from. Ex. Southern Illinois University, Cleveland State University, University of Cincinnati, etc. Film school isn’t a necessity, but it does help in the long run. “Although things change as a project goes on, the story you come up with in the beginning will serve as a foundation on which everything else will be built” (New York Film Academy, sec.1, n.d.). The idea can carry the whole project as long as it’s used as a basis for the film. The script is one of the most important parts of a film. A script is “where you’ll put down the story, setting, and dialogue in a linear form.” (New York Film Academy, sec. 2, n.d.). The script is my personal favorite part of the process. The script is the basis for the filming of the actual film. Actors don’t necessarily need to follow the script entirely. As said in the 2011 Documentary Making It In Hollywood, “”. Storyboards are next up. Storyboards show how a film is shot (filmed) and is composed of drawings or even by pictures. Next is the second most important part of filmmaking, the cast and crew. The cast is how the story is going to be portrayed. The crew is essentially how the film is going to made. It is recommended by the New York Film Academy that you take your time finding cast and crew members (paraphrase sec. 4). The cast can drastically change how the film feels and how it is seen. The cast can put their own “flair” into they’re acting to make the story feel a certain way, so make sure to taketime and choose the best match for your film.
