In India, farmers consider agriculture, farming, and seeds sacred because those are the beginnings of how food is created, grown and cultivated. Indians grow their food organically and plants are honored. Hinduism is the most practiced religion in India. Dharma is one aspect of Hinduism and describes how people should treat each other and behave. Religion influences how business is conducted in India. Religion influences customs, how people act and what and how they consume food. People who practice Hinduism offer food to God before they consume it themselves. They believe that food has an impact on life and part of that is eating the right foods that nourish and are good for one’s body. Hindus have compassion for all living creatures.
Globalization
Agriculture is a profitable enterprise in India and in the United States so combining resources can create opportunity for both countries. Nye, (2015) says” A growing Indian economy provides contributes to the health of the global economy and the United States through bilateral trade and investment”. Indian is one of three countries that dominate the sewing of cotton seed. The Indian farmers don’t want to be dictated to and don’t want a company to come in and take over their cotton seed business.

The poor in India do not feel good about agriculture because of the illegal activities of farmers, government, and globalization which creates and even bigger divide between the rich and poor. They feel that globalization tends to make rich people even richer. Monsanto will have to ensure the Indian government and its people that the partnership was not created to monopolize their seed industry and how the joint-venture will create more jobs and potentially drive down food
