Social classes represent the hidden structure of America, as well as in several other countries in the world. If one is unsatisfied with the social class they are born into, however, is it possible for them to change it? The answer is yes, they can, as per evidence from real life situations and from The Great Gatsby. Some might say that it is impossible to change the social class one is born into. In their opinion, if that person is born poor, consequently they will certainly die poor.
People were allowed to practice any religion as long as it didn’t interfere with the law code. Judaism was the prominent religion for hundreds of years, but Christianity became the popular religion after Judaism fizzled out at the end of the Roman Empire. In India, the government was controlled but not by a specific person. The influence of religion caused regional rulers to be able to hold power to closely watch their local territories, not just have a supreme ruler loosely make decisions.
There are many different societies in our world today, and each of these communities treat and group their people differently. While some places, like the United States, do not have set groups, others, like India, have very strict laws about what each class can and cannot do. The Caste system in India is a great example of how one society strictly groups their members. The Caste system is a class structure that is determined at birth.
According to Gregory Mantsios in “Class in America: Myths and Realities,” social class has a large influence on your educational achievements through life. Examining the test scores of half a million children the, poor and rich, also known as the bottom and the upper quartile, Richard de Lone found the crucial influence of social status on SAT scores. Another study by William Sewell comparing the rich and poor found that the upper class was two times as likely to get more training after high school and four times as likely to complete a postgraduate degree primarily due to their socioeconomic class. Decided at birth from your class standing to your life chances.
I imagine we get reincarnated whether we do wrong or rights. Even though I fancy in a God, I somewhat follow Buddha’s teachings in which they believe in finding enlightenment. This can also help serve with the moral I follow. With the teaching of Buddha, They are trying to reach enlightenment by doing the rights more than the wrongs. It sorta helps each other.
The caste system is a hierarchy in the Hindu religion that limits one's opportunities to the particular caste you are born into with no possibility of social mobility in a single lifetime. Both karma, the action and result, and dharma, which describes a person's religious and moral obligations, are related to the caste system and reincarnation. With the exception of one group in particular, the Dalits, upper caste benefits from the caste system since they're reborn on the same caste, it not only benefited them it also benefited their relatives. The Dalits were treated very harshly while other social classes received fair treatment. According to document 1, the Dalits, also known as non-aryans, are among the lowest social classes in comparison
My parents are considered to be “middle class” and for my 19 years of life that has been the lifestyle I have lived. On the other hand, Junior’s family in the novel has been labeled poor and lives in poverty on the reservation. In the book Junior states “My parents came from poor people who came from poor people, who came from poor people, all the way back to the very first poor people” (Alexie 11). These social classes society places us in effect out life each and every day. They put rules on things we can and can’t have, and also impose limitations on our lives Although, it is two completely different social classes, they have the same effect on our lives and the life we will live in the
This brings us to the point of rebirth because God’s abilities allows him to give and take life with just a flip of a switch. In that sense everything after the creation of the first human is considered a rebirth, because it duplicates the set of values that was instilled within the first human and leaves a trail of lineage that may or may not connect you with their
The stability of the Roman Republic and the Athenian Democracy is similar because they both had internal problems based on low income, yet the systems are different because participation in Rome was related to wealth, while participation in Athens wasn’t. To start, the stability of the Roman Republic and the Athenian Democracy was similar because they both had internal fights and reforms due to wealth. Specifically, the Gracchi brothers were a large part of the populares political group in Rome because of their efforts to redistribute land, set limits to the amount of land one can own, and make the state pay for military equipment, instead of the soldiers themselves. This represents how the Roman Republic had several problems regarding an unbalance in wealth. These were recognized by the Gracchi brothers, which led to such reforms.
Comparison and contrast between Buddhism and Hinduism Buddhism and Hinduism are two of the most ancient religions in the world today. It is unbelievable that Hinduism has been able to maintain its religion and culture for over 3,500 years and Buddhism for 2,800 years. Both Buddhism and Hinduism are originated from the Ganges culture of northern India during the second urbanisation in 500 B.C.E. They have shared the same beliefs that existed side by side and also some differences. Similarities Both Buddhism and Hinduism shared a strong belief in Samsara, which is an endless cycle of rebirth.
Religions of the Ancient World Of the seven religions/philosophies, most are polytheistic, with Judaism, Christianity, and Islam as exceptions. These three religions are the three major monotheistic religions, meaning they all only believe in one God. Being a Hindu, you should be grateful, strong, patient, gentle, good, generous, and truthful, as said in the Ancient Indian Epic, Mahabharata in 400 B.C. Hinduism has a Caste System (Doc. 3), which greatly influences the Hindu people. The four major castes are: The Brahmins: priests, The Kshatriyas: warriors, rulers, senators, presidents, and majors, The Vaisyas: farmers, merchants, lawyers, and doctors, The Sudras: unskilled workers, and the Other sub-castes: “untouchables” (Doc. 7). I think heritage, circumstances, and choices all define a person’s social class. For starters, one of the reasons for social classes in America is heritage. Since the very beginning of the United States, people have divided themselves into different groups and ways of living based on their status. For example, someone born into a certain class, grows up surrounded by, and expecting what they have lived with.

One of the biggest religions in India is Hinduism. One of the objects that made this possible were the Vedas that were brought by the Aryans. The Vedas are kind of like the bibles of hinduism, they are four sacred texts that have different hymns and poems. Before all this was written down in Sanskrit they were practised orally for many years. One of the most important people are the Brahmins because they are the only ones that knew how to interpret the Vedas and do the rituals correctly.
It is believed that every action has a reaction, and the sum total of one's actions, whether good or bad, determine their destiny or fate. In other words, the accumulation of karma affects one's present and future circumstances, including social, emotional, and spiritual well-being. Good karma is the result of virtuous actions that bring positive outcomes, while bad karma is the result of immoral actions that bring negative outcomes. These outcomes may not be immediate and may manifest in future lifetimes. According to Hinduism, the ultimate goal is to achieve liberation from the cycle of birth and death, which can only be accomplished by attaining good karma.
