After some research, I discovered the multitude of concentrations of engineering. From broad topics like materials engineering, all the way to extremely specific topics, such as aerospace engineering, there is a variety of branches to choose from. Engineering is truly a wide subject that engages subject fields of both math and science.
I realized that my future was in the electrical aspect of engineering. I was not aware of all the various areas that were in strictly electrical engineering.Electrical engineering captivates me because of my interest in electricity and currents. Engineers use the various properties of electricity and current to base their designs around and design successful products. The job security of this job domain is well above average, in one way, shape, or form we will always need electricity which makes it exceedingly hard for companies to simply stop hiring

According to a study conducted by Michigan State University, electrical engineers have the highest starting salary upon graduation. Their study, conducted in 2014, concluded that electrical engineers receive $57, 030 for their starting salaries on average. A blog called: “The Engineering Coach,” listed The Boeing Company, Lockheed Martin Corporation, the International Business Machines Corporation, Google, Apple, General Electric, Shell Oil Company, and BMW Group as the top eight companies who employ electrical engineers. Electrical engineers who lands jobs with these companies have a gaping assortment of careers just in these specific companies. General Electric for example, has a good deal of different sections such as: General Electric Aviation, and General Electric Appliances both of which employ countless electrical engineers.
