The word holocaust comes from a Greek word holokauston which is a direct translation of the Hebrew olah, meaning “completely burnt offering to God” (Fleet). The Holocaust, also called “Final Solution” was a state sponsored maltreatment and genocide of roughly six million Jews executed by the Nazi administration on January 1933. It was believed that the Germans was a “racially superior” while the Jews were “racially inferior” (Introduction). There are many people out there who believe that the holocaust never existed, all staged , and an arch-fabrication, even though witness’ have stepped forward, and some concentration camps left behind tracks. It was during World War II when the systematic extermination of the Jews began. The Germans deported the Jews and sent them into the ghettos that they established after their success of invading Poland in 1939 (The Start). The ghettos were used to segregate the Jews from the non-Jewish population. A total of one thousand ghettos was established in Poland and Soviet Union (Ghettos). A british archeologist have recently found a mass grave in Treblinka, where more than 800,00 was killed. Autopsies was done, and many chemical elements was traced back to the Holocaust, where most of the Jews were killed in gas chambers mostly caused by carbon monoxide that are generated by diesel engines.
