What they did is they removed the bodies form the gas chambers and buried the victims in the graves with other victims. They also burned the bodies. They had no other choice be cause there was stacks and piles of bodies so they had to get rid of them so they just burned the bodies. The Jews in the concentration camp had a place to sleep but is was like a barn but was a bunk. The (barn) had man wooden beds and their were bunks of threes or four.
Dehumanization made people feel like they are worthless. When they came to the camp, they were dehumanized by giving less food and crammed them into barracks which had little space to sleep, they also stripped them and cut their hair. Nazi generals took their belongings and valuables from Jews. Jews and other targeted groups were tattooed numbers to get registered. On Eliezer’s first day of the camp, “Never shall I forget the small faces of the children whose bodies I saw transformed into smoke under a silent sky”(Wiesel 34).

There is no doubt about the fact that the Holocaust was a horrible time, but just how bad was life in the case of Jewish men, women, and even children. Life as they knew it changed forever during World War II. They were treated as extremely low class citizens. Just being alive was torture to them as the Nazis made their lives and every aspect of them into a living nightmare. Almost every situation relates back to the basics of life food, money, and a job.

The 2011 documentary, First Generation, follows four students’ journeys during the last few years of high school as they strive to be the first in their families to attend college. All four featured students, Cecilia, Keresoma (“Soma”), Jess, and Dontay, have the grades and the determination to succeed but they lack the financial support which ultimately hinders their college application process. Other low income students struggle with the college application process as well and they tend to navigate it on their own. Unlike a lot of students, low income students usually don’t have the parental support at home. Most of the time, their parents aren’t familiar with the college application process seeing as they haven’t gone through it themselves.
As the Holocaust advanced through Europe, the Nazis began forcing Jews to leave their homes and move to ghettos, which later resulted in them getting sent to concentration camps. While this process occurred, the Jews were forced to sell all their belongings, before they were taken. The Jews had to leave behind everything they knew and loved, being stripped of their ability to have ownership over something or in other words, dehumanizing them. After spending a typically short amount of time in ghettos, Jews were transported to concentration camps. Upon arrival at camps such as Auschwitz and Buchenwald, Jews’ heads were shaved, their clothes were taken and replaced by uniforms or previously used clothing, along with any of their remaining belongings or personal items that remained.

The Nazis had a plan called the System of Death where they told all the Jews that they were going to take showers and clean off and the Nazis took them to a medium sized room where they all stripped down getting ready for showers. The Nazis would then put some Zyklon B pellets into the chamber where it reacted with the oxygen in the air and turned into chlorine gas and all the Jews were dead in minutes.
