No one has ever become poor by giving. Financial aid is a great organization. However, the more loans they give becomes a problem. To help the issue with price of college, the Minnesota government should continue and increase the amount of grants and scholarships in financial aid. This is due to the rising college costs, people in debt, and cut in government funding.
The main problem with price of college is that tuition keeps going up, rising faster than inflation and family income. It’s happening because public colleges are still feeling the effects of a dramatic cut in state funding during the recession. This has been happening for about a decade (around 2007). It’s a problem because colleges are in need of money and they have to get it from somewhere. Currently, people are trying to solve it with financial aid. Kanyakrit Vongkiatkajorn discusses that, “A lot of people talk about student loans with regard to how things are after you finish college, such as the challenges of repaying debt. But they don't talk about the fact that people are so worried about debt even while they're still in college. Watching people go without enough food to eat because they're afraid to take out a loan, or decide to not go abroad or not hang out with friends because they're so worried about what will happen,” (One Bold Way to Blow Up the College Debt Nightmare 1).
