Macbeth is a 16th century tragedy that was created by William Shakespeare. In this play three main themes are portrayed, these include ambition and evil, men and women, and the supernatural. Throughout the play we are taken through various characters and scenes that involve malicious deeds due to greed and ambition. In the beginning of the tragedy, three witches predict that Macbeth will become king. This then fills him with both ambition and greed and he will do anything in his power from that point on, to become royalty. In the end, both of these traits get the best of him and he is defeated by Macduff. To represent the first Act of Macbeth, I chose the song “Witches Promise” by Jethro Tull.
