Sumerian First city was created by the Sumerians. Their first cities had rectangular setup and tall and wide walls. For religious processes and victory parades, the city gate’s avenues were open. The biggest building was a Ziggurat. They are pyramid - temples that were behemoth. Every Ziggurat has a shrine to represent the chief god or goddess of the city on top. Rulers and leaders lived in a spacious homes and gardens whereas the peasants and lived in narrow small alley houses. First writing was also created by the Sumerians in 3,200 B.C. They invented the oldest writing we know so far called Cuneiform (Latin for cuneus for wedge). This system consists of pictures and inspired by the way priests kept data and temple storehouses.
