Select a specific formal organization of which you have some knowledge through your participation within the organization either currently or previously. This organization needs to be an organization which you have experienced over a period of time. The formal organization I would like to use to complete this paper is UPS. My first working experience came from UPS working the sort elle. Before working there all i knew about UPS was their shipping system and there delivery system with the brown trucks. Attending the application process I was taken on a tour of the factory. So the social organization we followed was normative. The ideal standard or model, or being based on what is considered to be the normal or correct way of doing something. Your focus was to be on your work at all times but didn't mind you talking with fellow employees if you could get the job done ass well. When the full time managers where around the environment changed to more of a Utilitarianism social environment. Everyone had to keep quiet and focus on your work. You made sure to follow all the rules on handling the packages. While working there i witnessed a huge battle between my full time manager and a part time sorter. During the summer time the factory would be very hot and so tempered where in the rise. The difference between 5 minutes ment allot when it came to having to walk very far to your car or very short. There was always allot of workers leaving as my shift was coming in, so the traffic was also hectic. To enter the factory you must enter through security, where you walked through metal detectors and had to show an UPS ID. From there u had to find your way to your working station and swipe yourself in. After signing in you where to find an unloading partner and follow them through the night truck by truck. Most people who worked there for a while gained permanent partners through their skills of working good together. The fast unloaders were given to the more experience while the new employees would follow fellow newer employees. We were given no brakes even though you were aloud to ask for a quick drink of water. Inside we had break rooms that contains seats and bending machines even they made it clear we had no brake time.Some employees would try and hideout in the break room to avoid working in the hot factory. Front stage behavior became very important whenever a blue shirt was around(full time manager). If anyone were to yell at u it would be a blue shirt. Supervisors were more scared of blue shirts than a regular unloader or sorter. But when a blue shirt wasn't around the supervisors were able to switch into their backstage actions. Studied
