6. The Fistful of Dollars/ Last Man Standing.
A nameless man, enters a small village. Which is ruled over by two rival systems. In edict to get some money, the stranger introduces himself into the heart of a long-lasting squabble by pretending to be on both sides. Articulately planned, the stranger set up a full-scale mob warfare between the warring parties.
Though in the beginning it’s a plot of Akira Kurosawa’s Yojimbo, the motion pictures in question here are Sergio Leone’s A Fistful of Dollars and Walter Hill’s Last Man Standing. Though the latter is an official remake of Yojimbo, ironically enough, it’s the unofficial one, Sergio Leone’s A Fistful of Dollars, which is thought to be a classic and a fitting homage to Kurosawa’s masterpiece. …show more content…

Dr. Strangelove/ Fail Safe.
The screenplay is based during the cold war of the sixties. When U.S.A and U.S.S.R are constantly threatening thermonuclear war with each other. The narrative is about how America (unwittingly) starting a nuclear war with the Soviet Union, which cannot be stopped due to the technological system which limit the possibility of human intervention.
In 1964, two motion pictures released that are founded along the aforementioned subject matter, Sydney Lumet’s “Fail Safe” and Stanley Kubrick “Dr. Strangelove”. Although, aesthetically completely different from one another (Fail Safe is a serious suspense drama while Dr. Strangelove is a satirical comedy) both movies are regarded to be a masterpiece. However, Kubrick’s Dr. Strangelove is far more relevant in current times than Lumet’s Fail Safe.
