The Fleshless Frog “Ribbit, click…click” “Ribbit, click click” I was awakened by the sound of clicking and croaking. I sprung up quickly and realized, I was in my room. “Ribbit, click.” “Ribbit, click, click” Looking over at my desk next to my computer I saw a frog, a frog like no one had ever seen before. This frog was nothing but a skeleton, made entirely of bones. Yet despite its lack of flesh this frog was very much alive. It was jumping up and down on the keyboard of my computer, croaking continuously. I could hear it’s bones clicking together as it pounced upon the number pad of my keyboard. I sprung out of bed in an attempt to catch the frog but it jumped out the half opened window of my bedroom. I was shocked as the alarm clock rang abruptly, and realized it was time to go to school. After my initial scare I was annoyed. I smashed my alarm clock and headed out the bedroom door. “What happened to your head Drake!?” My dad asked me as he sat down at the table to eat breakfast. Then he adjusted his black and white striped tie. “What do you mean? Drake replied. “You have a giant goose egg on your head. What happened? ‘“ Dad asked me again, pointing to the large lump that rose tall like a mountain off of my forehead. I felt my head and winced in pain. There was a large bump above my right eye. I remembered my fall for the tree last night. “I think a might have fallen out of bed last night.” I replied. “Again? I’ve told you a thousand times not to drink caffeine before you go to bed, you know it gives you the jitters.” My dad said in an unconcerned tone. “Do you want breakfast before school” “No dad, I never do.” I said
