Who knew planes could fly over a major financial crash! As it turns out, they did. Planes were a new mode of transportation that was introduced by the Wright Brother and was finding its place in the world as most great inventions do. Though as it turns out, it was during the Great Depression this industry flourished and began to integrate into the lives of the american people. Planes were new to the scene and need to fill a demand.

The whole football team died on the plane crash when they hit the hillside. Marshall University plane crash was a tragedy that changed the way the university recruited player. The whole town mourn their loss and worked together to move on.
In the short story “Flight Patterns” by Sherman Alexie, William, a man of Native American descent, gets a better understanding of himslef through Fekadu’s story of his life. William has a wife named Marie and a daughter named Grace who he both loves very dearly. He is a business man who often travels for his jobThis story takes place around a year after the world trade centers were hit on September 11. While taking a taxi to the airport he meets an African American man named Fekadu. Fekadu tells him his life story and William is hesitant to believe it because generally black taxi drivers do not hold degrees from Harvard; however, William is intruiged by Fekadu’s story and listens on with interest.

Also, the main characters lived many years apart and lived many different lives. In Little Women, the girls lived during the Civil war. Connie lived in the twenty-first century. Knowing how far apart they lived, people can tell they had very different lives.
When the Indians and the animals are leaving the Everglades their connectedness to nature is highlighted. The Indians were well adapted to understanding the signs of a future hurricane explicitly saying on page 154 that they were “Going to high ground. Saw-grass bloom. Hurricane coming”. The animals seemed even more aware of the danger the hurricane will bring.
While reading these four openings, I focus on analyzing two of them, one is Flight Behavior by Barbara Kingsolver, and another one is Olive Kitteridge by Elizabeth Strout. In the first opening, The Measure of a Man, the author quickly creates context and characters by describing a woman’s personal life, habits and appearance, which seems like has no relevance of the title, The Measure of a Man, because our main character is a woman who has nothing to do with the “Man”. Mary meets Colin the same way as the book she meets him when he is crying because he can’t sleep. She talks with him for a while. They didn’t have in the book of Mary and Colin gazing at the pictures of there mothers but in the movie
