One of the flying foxes adaptations is that it’s nocturnal. This helps them to survive because there are fewer predators at night and therefore they can feed easily and without as much fear of being eaten. Another one of the flying foxes adaptations is its exceptional sense of smell. This helps the flying fox to find its food and also allows them to communicate with other flying foxes for example if a male flying fox marks his territory then another flying fox will be able to smell it and know that someone has already marked it. The flying fox also has large wings that help it to fly. These wings enable the flying fox to travel over large distances to find their food. Another adaptation of the flying fox is its good sense of hearing. Good hearing allows them to listen for predators and also to communicate with each other. Flying foxes have claws which help them to hang upside down without using much energy and also lets them move around trees with ease. A rough tongue helps the flying fox to survive in its habitat because they use it to peel the skin off fruit and separate the fruit pulp and juice from the seeds which is what makes up most of their diet. Lastly the flying fox has large eyes which means more light can get in and this helps them to see better in the dark. This is good as they are
