The foundation of the U.S. government has been built on the American people. Every aspect of government caters to the people in all fifty states. The resources developed by the American people are for the American people. This is the way paved by former Presidents Washington Lincoln, Roosevelt and Kennedy that were used to establish for the country. Today, the American people are fortunate to have many agencies equipped with resources to service communities across the country. Many of these agencies protect the health and wellbeing of the people providing healthcare and affordable drug coverages. In 1938, there were some toxic elixirs that where marketed and one hundred and seven people were killed including children. This occurrence birthed the FDA known today as the Food and Drug Administration. The FDA is a federally mandated and governed to protect public health. The qualifications of the FDA goes further than just elixirs. All food production, drug manufacturing, cosmetics, pathogens, and also inspections are regulated by the FDA to provide safe and proper products to the American people. Daily millions of products come into the U.S. and the FDA inspects those products to protect the consumer from biological or radiation materials that pose a threat to lives. Every pharmaceutical company within the U.S. must meet the standards set by the FDA before patenting and selling their drugs. The actual process can take up to several years. In December of 1989 the AHRQ was formed as a part of the HHS. Its purpose is to continuously improve the quality of healthcare, the accessibility of healthcare, and the affordable. AHRQ informs not only the consumers; but also providers in healthcare. Medical providers are given training by the AHRQ as to the quality of care the public must receive. Patients are given resources and information on vaccines, medications and nutrition.
