“The world will not be destroyed by those who do evil, but by those who watch them and do nothing.” Evil is an unpleasant, wicked, or mean act(s) with some form of negativity. Burke’s quote is very accurate because if evil is present it wont stop or be changed until something good comes forth or has an effect on it. Through Vahans trials in Forgotten Fire, Paul’s bravery in Hotel Rwanda, A priest standing up for a social community, and two of the columbine victims and a reporter standing up to a big corporation they will show that evil wont prevail if good confronts it. First in Forgotten Fire the evil did not prevail. There wasn’t a lot of good prevailing but Burke’s quote was still accurate when referring to this book. Even though Vahan was in a very bad situation, lost everything he loved and cherished he still managed to stay positive; in a way this shows good triumphing evil. The Turks were trying to wipe out the Armenian race but Vahan managed to survive and maneuver his way to freedom. A local journalist took two of the victims from the shooting to the K-Mart headquarters and they asked for K-Mart to stop selling bullets in their stores. The journalist empowered the two victims to take a stand. Since the boys who committed the crime killed themselves they thought the next best thing was K-Mart. They went to the headquarters and spoke to the supervisor of the gun section but got ignored. They left and came back the next day, this time they came with the media and newspaper reporters so K-Mart would have to listen. To impress the media and newspaper K-Mart banded the sale of bullets in all of their stores. The evil (K-Mart sold the bullets the shooters used) mad a change because good (the two victims and the journalist) wouldn’t back
