We don’t just contribute to our city in the present but we also invest in it for the long run. The higher the level of education we get to, the more information and skills we are able to give back creating better and more improved things. According to statistics, the normal four year college enrolled student contributes $278,000 more to nearby economies than the normal secondary school graduate through direct spending throughout his or her lifetime; a partner degree holder contributes $81,000 more than a secondary school graduate. Non-traditional students can range from so many ages even as old as 70 years and older. Fort Valley State makes it so much more convenient for those in the community to come back and get another chance at education without leaving so far from home. There are literally homes within walking distance of the campus. It is often to have housing around campus but not very often to have communities that are not specifically for off campus residents. Meaning that there aren’t just “off-campus students” that reside in the communities and homes around the school its regular fort valley residents also. Homecoming is one of the bigger events that comes through the city. I say this because during that time you will see many venders out trying to support their business and to also help network with many different people. Homecoming brings a lot of money to the community because many alumni come back to see their school do good and to have fun. Homecoming is the time where many people can also give back to the community and to try to build and better the community itself. Thousands and thousands of dollars come through the city during that time. It’s also good for some of the local stores as well like sharks and Harvey’s etc. Many people also network during this time to help build or start businesses. With doing that we are putting my Fvsu alumni out there on the market to be successful. This will also give the opportunity for the alumni to give back to the institution as well to the institution and city are getting benefits. In all everybody is getting benefits. I believe in a couple more years Fort Valley state would be back on the map again., not just bringing back the old traditions in the city but bringing in new ones as well. This would bring many people to the city more and would probably want to even stay in the city more. If the institution itself come together with the community this would be a great work experience and project that would benefit every in the
