Freedom Summer, or the Mississippi Summer Project, was a volunteer campaign launched in June 1964 to attempt to register as many African-American voters as possible in Mississippi, which had historically excluded most blacks from voting. The project also set up dozens of Freedom Schools throughout Mississippi to aid the local black population. The projects leadership and funding came from the SNCC and COFO, along with hundreds of white college students in the north. In 1963, the SNCC organized a mock vote for blacks, which gave them a chance to prove they were capable of understanding politics. The civil rights activists from both organizations and the white volunteers from the north faced many challenges during the campaign.

Gordon Parks was an African American photographer that had a very rich and diverse body of work from black and white photography to motion picture films. Parks was known for taking photos of social injustice, poverty, and racism in the United States. “Half Past Autumn: A Retrospective Exhibition” was organized in 1997 by the Corcoran Museum of Art which showcased his astonishing works of art. The book Half Past Autumn: The Art of Gordon Parks was also released in 1997 includes over 200 photographs that illustrate Parks work.
If the schools started later in the day absences would drop. Students being late is a big problem in their grades. Kids wake up early in the morning because sometimes their schools start early. When they wake up early in the morning their body still says that it is time to sleep. If we have classes that are later than kids will attend school more and get more sleep.

Everybody knows that there are four seasons, and everyone has their favorite one out of all of them. Mine is when the woods turns into a coloring book of orange and red, when I put a nice warm batch of hot co-co on the stove, and were all of my family comes together every year. In this General Art History course work, we are going to talk about the Four Seasons Collection by Giuseppe Arcimboldo from the 1570s. Summers have an air of relaxation to them for most people, but for me I can barely find a moment's rest. Because I work in the hospitality industry, summer is the busiest time of the year. My apartment is a 3 minute walk from the beach and yet I only rarely get to enjoy it. Although there are days, there are precious days, when I can just stop and smell the ocean. Where I can just sit there all day, seemingly without a care in the world.
