Within this essay I’m going to discuss the Organizational ethic of the company that I’m currently employed with Tyson Foods. The brand I’m going to discuss is Hillshire brands which was a large company itself that was bought out by Tyson foods in 2014. Organizational ethics are the principals and standards by which businesses operate. They are demonstrated through the acts of fairness, compassion, integrity, honor and responsibility. The key for the companies managers and executives to ensure that all employees understand these ethics.
These rules apply to day to day interactions with everyone in the facility including the patients, families, other health care providers and the public. In much long-term care facility, the compliance of the ethical code of conduct is a condition of employment and those who are found guilty of violating the regulations are severely disciplined and in worst cases terminated. Long-term care facility employs several corrective measures to discipline violators of the code of conduct. Some of the remedial measures include providing additional training for the offender, written warning, and refunding overpayments in cases of billing violations. The disciplining of employees who violate the code of conduct is based on the type of conduct being violated
“By assuming other people should be treated the way I want to be treated, it imposes my preferences and values on those around me”(Does The Golden). Essayist and writer for the New York Times Magazine, Chuck Klosterman, explains in his article Does The Golden Rule Hold Up in Modern Society why the “Golden Rule” may actually be not so golden after all. Klosterman explains why assuming that people want the same things and think that the same actions are moral is simply irrational. He states, “Well, I certainly want to be treated in a manner that accounts for the possibility that other people can’t predict what I want”(Does The Golden). I interpret this to mean that he wants to be treated as a unique person who has his own morals and values.
Yes, I think the practice of having a Registered nurse on staff who cannot administer certain basic functions is ethical. Registered nurses who work in assisted living facilities specializes in geriatrics. The typical assisted living facility provides security, housekeeping and food services. While the people in this assignment are not able to live independently or with family, it is the duty of the family to ensure the facility they choose to place their loved ones provides the type of care the person will need. Therefore, it is important for them to visit skilled nursing facilities and find the appropriate one that would accommodate the need of their loved one as opposed to assisted living facility.
The idea of ethics can be shown many different ways, as displayed within our readings. When looking at ethics, there is a broad spectrum of what people believe to be right and wrong. One instance that I saw the issue of ethics was in the Disney movie Aladdin. When referencing the reading regarding ethics, there are six principles of ethics that can be shown through both this picture as well as this scene depicted within Aladdin: categorical imperative, utilitarianism, hedonism, the golden mean, the golden rule, and the veil of ignorance. Staring with categorical imperative, this principle states that right is right and must be done even under the most extreme conditions.
The Golden Rule says to treat others the same way one would want to be treated. The Golden Rule can be achieved when equality and Civil Rights are being used between a group of people. An example is when a person is treated unfairly. Instead of attacking the other person they would try and solve it peacefully knowing that physical actions are unnecessary choices that will only make problems worse. The ideas of equality are neutral choices or actions set on two groups or more.
I believe every case is different regarding a child’s duty to care for their aging parent(s). If a parent is without options and needs support, I believe it is a moral good to tend to the needs of his/her parent, until another option becomes available. On that note, I do not think it should be the child’s sole responsibility when there are other choices that can be made. If a child has maintained a positive relationship with his/her parent(s), the child should continue to keep that relationship, regardless if they care for them, or not. I believe you can be a caregiver for your parents without living with them, and/or enduring the financial burden.
In the story “Harrison Bergeron” they try to attempt to make a utopia by making each other look equal. Have you ever cut someone off in traffic, or didn’t call somebody back because you don’t like them? That’s just how our bodies and mind are, it would be impossible to make everybody in your utopia to not do bad things. The golden rule means to treat others the way you want to be treated, but there are some jerks in the world and selfish people. There is nothing we can do about it and it just teaches us how to be human beings.
The Golden Rule is the basis for the last six of the ten commandments. It shows us how to love our neighbors. His Father rains on the just and the unjust and He blesses the oppressed and the oppressor. Since God embodies loving all, He does not make any distinction on who the sun shines. The Golden Rule presents God as having unconditional love and unmerited favor on all people.

For example, it would also not make sense for me to criticize someone else for, say, breaking the speed limit if I then went and broke it myself, for Kant, it is a sure sign of its subjectivism, it does not indicate the essence or the content of morality, therefore its inadequacy as a foundation of moral philosophy.
