Henri Membertou Henri Membertou was born around 1510 close to what is modern day Annapolis Royal and passed away so September 11 1611. He was the leader of the Mi’kmaq First Nations band which was located near Port Royal and was the first native to be baptized on 18 September 1611 at Annapolis Royal. Before he was grand chief of the Mi’kmaq tribe he was the district chief of Kespukwitk the area where the French colonists first landed. As well as being the district chief he was also the spiritual leader of his tribe and was believed to have healing and prophesy powers.

(Reuters) - A Pennsylvania man and his wife were each sentenced to up to four decades in state prison on Wednesday after pleading guilty in the murder of their disabled nine-year-old son, who was found starved to death in a dark, feces-smeared room last year. Judge John Cherry of Dauphin County Court of Common Pleas said Jarrod Tutko Sr., 39, and Kimberly Tutko, 40, were equally culpable in the death of Jarrod Tutko Jr. and the near-death of his sister Arianna, now 12. He sentenced the father to 21 to 42 years in prison, and gave his wife a sentence of 20 to 40 years.

Eric LeGrand is a former American football defensive tackle who played college football at Rutgers. He was born on September 4, 1990, Avenel, Woodbridge, NJ. He has twenty-five years of age and is paralyzed from the neck down due to an injury that occurred in football. This injury occurred in October of 2010 while attempting a tackle on the football field when he was twenty years old. Leonard Peltier’s Innocence Leonard Peltier was a Native American man arrested for supposedly killing two FBI agents on Pine Ridge Reservation of South Dakota. There have been many debates about the integrity of the court cases and the lawfulness of Peltier’s arrest. Many FBI supporters would claim that there were eyewitness accounts and various other pieces of material evidence that show that Peltier was the culprit. However, Peltier supporters would rebut the evidence, saying that the eyewitness accounts aren’t legitimate and the court decision was politically influenced. I will consider both sides of the argument, and show that Peltier’s innocence is evident because the evidence provided against Peltier was falsified and the FBI used disingenuous methods in charging Peltier for murder.
Forty year old Beate Zschaepe, also known as the Nazi Bride, confessed to being part of the National Socialist Underground (NSU), a terrorist organization. She is the only surviving member and is being held on trial for what happened over the past seven years. The crimes the group committed include the murder of ten people, two bomb attacks, 15 bank robberies and the destruction of evidence of arson. Beate Zschaepe explained to NBC News that she did not participate in the preparations or carrying out of the crimes and she felt guilty for not being able to prevent them.
