Frank Lloyd Wright had a profound personal life, together with his early career, as well as his later career, and finally, his forever lasting fame and legacy. Frank Lloyd Wright’s private life was phenomenal. Frank was brought into this world on June 8, 1867 (“Frank Lloyd Wright” 1). Frank as a young boy was emboldened to use the Froebel Kindergarten Education system (Nicholson 9). At the age of 17, Frank changed his middle from Lincoln to Lloyd in 1884 (Nicholson 10). After Frank Lloyd Wright’s parents divorced in 1884, Frank never saw his father again (Nicholson 10). In the following year, Frank Lloyd Wright first approached Catherine Lee Tobin (Nicholson 11). Catherine had only been 16 years old at the time (Nicholson 11). After Catherine turned 18 years old (Nicholson 11), Frank Lloyd Wright wed his first spouse of three on June 1, 1889 (“Frank Lloyd Wright” 2). Catherine Lee Tobin gave birth to six of Wright’s children (Stritof 2). In an attempt to bring family life closer, Frank moved his work to his abode in 1898 (“Frank Lloyd Wright” 4). Frank Lloyd Wright formed a bond with Mamah Cheney, a former client of his, in 1904 (Nicholson 23). When Wright had turned 40 in 1907, he perceived that his fame was not as immense as he had earned (Nicholson 23). Mamah Cheney left her husband in June of 1909 (Lebow 4). Wright had become emotionally confused after Mamah Cheney Came into his life (Nicholson 24). Wright designed several houses in southern California in the 1920’s (“Wright, Frank Lloyd” 507), including the Hollyhock House in 1921 (Nash39), and the John Store House in 1924 (Nash 24). Frank Lloyd Wright worked on the Imperial Hotel from 1914 to 1922 (Nicholson 33). The hotel summed up to be 4.5 million American dollars (Nicholson 33). The Imperial Hotel was completed in 1923 (Nash 39). A couple of years later, the Taliesin burned down (Nicholson 42).Frank Lloyd Wright wrote his first biography in 1932 (Lubow 4), and it was published in the same year (Nicholson 44). Frank Lloyd Wright established the Taliesin Fellowship in 1932 (“Wright, Frank Lloyd” 507). Frank Lloyd Wright was asked to build the Falling Water House in 1934 (Nicholson 52). Wright astonishingly designed the Falling Water House in less than three hours of time (Nicholson 53). Wright was being highly requested for builds by the end of the 1930’s (Nicholson 63). Wright designed the Johnson Wax Administration Building inn 1939 (Nash 57). In addition, Frank designed the Wingspread in the same year (Nash 66). Frank Lloyd Wright finished 19 projects between 1939 and 1940 (Nicholson 63). As the Second World War started, Wright’s work only slowed down for a short period of time (Nicholson 63).
