It may seem apparent at first to say that the monster from the story, “Frankenstein” is obviously just a monster and nothing else but when you look into the facts, it may not seem as obvious as you think. There is more evidence showing that the monster is more human than what he is displayed as. The monster is human because of how much knowledge and feelings he has. First of all, the book “Frankenstein” by Gris Grimly demonstrates how much knowledge the monster has. When the monster is telling Frankenstein all about his life after he ran away, he tells Victor how much apprehension he’s acquired in such a short amount of time by learning mannerisms and reading books. Another example is when he knew the feelings of the family just by looking at them and figuring out how to help them. This just goes to show how much more intellectual he is compared to a general monster in any book or movie. Any other average monster wouldn’t be able to pick things up that quickly. Page 99 is a prime example of the good deeds he does for the family. He felt as happy as the family did when he gave them resources that they lacked even though he wasn’t getting anything in return. This supports what I said because he genuinely has a kind heart despite his bad reputation. Regardless of being chased away by the townspeople, he didn’t give up on being compassionate and trying to receive the old man’s acceptance. All he was doing was admiring them and wishing he had the love the family had for each other. In closing, the author conveys how much more human the monster really
