There is an ongoing argument over the graphic novel written by Gris Grimly about whether or not Victor's creation is human. In this story, Victor Frankenstein created a creature in a lab after many months. The creature that Victor created should be classified as a human because he was made with human body parts and has human emotions. The first reason the creature is human is that he was made by human hands. Sure Victor created him in a lab but he was still made by human hands with love and passion. Victor just stitched together different people into one person and brought it to life. He gave a human life artificially and that does not make him a monster. They also like to say he is not human because he killed people and did not feel remorse. In the text, Frankenstein says, “Do you think that I was then dead to agony and remorse? Think ye that the groans of Clerval were music to my ears? My heart was fashioned to be susceptible to love and sympathy; and, when wrenched by misery to vice and hatred, it did not endure the violence of the change without torture, such as you cannot even imagine."(Grimly, 190) This shows how he felt bad for the people he killed and regrets it. This also proves how the creature is capable of love just as a human is. He felt tortured for the lives he had taken and how it was very bad. In the text, Frankenstein states, " No sympathy may I ever find. When I first sought it, it was the love of virtue, the feelings of happiness and affection with which my whole being overflowed, that I wished to participate. " (Grimly, 191)This shows how he has accepted that he has made a mistake and that he is not worthy of sympathy. He also says that he felt sympathy and love. All these feelings are things that humans feel. These quotes show how he feels human feelings such as love and regret. He is not just some killing machine but a man who feels bad for the mistakes he has
