Frankenstein Research paper
Frankenstein a book written by Shelley in 1818, it was made in the Romantic period, so what
affects does it have on the modern horror genre. The romantic period was a time in which artist,
would use their emotions to drive their work. The same happened to Frankenstein when Shelley her
soon to be husband, Lord Byron, and her sister had a Competition to see who could come up with the
most creative, and clever ghost story, soon after that she had a dream about a scientist creating life, that
is how she got the idea for Frankenstein. Some people also say that the story isn't Romanticism, but
Gothic romance

Despite this apparent difference, Mary
Shelley was deeply influenced by the romantics, and the reader of Frankenstein can certainly
identify a number of characteristics of romanticism in this novel. (Smith, 1).
Shelley's novel Frankenstein is both Romanticism, and Gothic romance. So now that we have that
knowledge about the story we can find out how this affected the story itself. Frankenstein has many
quotes that are based off both Romanticism, and Gothic romance we can use these quotes to see how
they have affected the story's characters, setting, and how the reader sees, and feels about the story
overall. This story is mainly filled with Gothic romance quotes here are some I feel have a big impact Williamson 2
on the story:

So it seems that the movie had a similar effect as it
did in Frankenstein because I felt connected to the characters by how they acted and spoke. So in
conclusion, I do think that it wouldn't as scary if we didn't feel connected to the characters, because the
characters in movies, novels, poems, etc. are one way we can feel like that we're in that scenario, it
doesn't matter if it was the protagonist or antagonist we would feel the same for either just take this
quote from Frankenstein:
