Franklin Delano Roosevelt (FDR), our 32nd president, contributed significantly to the history of the United States from 1900 to 1940. During his four terms in office, FDR changed the way that people viewed the role of federal government. While addressing the problems of the time, he put forth legislation that he believed would help to solve the economic and social hardships that people were going through. First elected president of the United States of America in 1932, FDR faced the daunting task of dealing with the Great Depression.
