Hello, I am Ryan Judge, and I have developed (with a group) a 6-week program to train a client for a 5k. A 5k is 3.1 miles, so it is an endurance run, something that is not meant to be done fast. In this essay, I am going to tell you about the fashion of our training program, and why me made it the way it is. The client that we made our 6-week training program for is a 13 year-old girl with no medical history.
Homeroom Reflection Junior year I have grown as a student this semester by watching the mala movie. This has helped me grow as a student because it showed me how just one voice can change so much in a community. From this experience I learned how Mala was an ordinary girl but who ones spoke up for what she believed was right for her community and the people all around her. After she started to change her community on a positive way for example, have more schools so students can have an education and making sure girls were able to attend school more often. Therefore, when she spoke up for what she thought was right and changed people 's life there was some who didn 't appreciate what she was doing so decided to shot her and ended up shooting her on her forehead.
In the spring of my freshman year, I was faced with something I had never faced before. I either had to choose my friends and spring break or basketball. I loved basketball, but at the same time, I realized that freshman year was the year to make a lot of friends. All I had heard in the past month was my friends talking about Spring Break. I knew that basketball would take place every single weekend until August 1st.
At Last, I’m A Senior Senior year has by far been the craziest, scariest, and most important year of my life. In the next few minutes I will show you the problems that educators and children, in the public school system, face because of the traditional, but out-dated calendar. I will then introduce you to some of the aspects of year-round school and show you how it is a better alternative than the current nine month calendar. There are, as I see it, 4 key issues that illustrate why the nine-month calendar is a problem. First, it is a 100-year-old system that was implemented to accommodate an agrarian society.
Junior year was a bit challenging for me. It was not challenging because of the work, but I joined a career program. I had to keep up with both of my schools. For me to be successful with so many things going on, I had to stay organized and think ahead. My success was that I kept all my grades above a C+.
Many people attend these Friday Night football games because they see it as a tradition. I was never quite able to understand this until after I graduated high school and had been attending the games every fall Friday night for four years as a part of the marching band. Now as a recent graduate of Cambria Heights, I have come to understand the meaning of these Friday night football games like everyone else does. These games are not just a time to come and see an entertaining football game or the marching band performance (although those are perfectly great reasons to go!), but it is a time to catch up with friends, both those who we see often and those who we do not see so much anymore. Everyone must have been through a significant change in one point of their life. The significant change that I been through was in my early age. During those few years attending to Atlantic Middle School, I survived from cultural differences and language barriers. When I was fourteen years old I traveled by myself from my home in Fuzhou (a city in southern China) to Boston, Massachusetts to reunite with my family, who had been living in the United States for the past eight years.
Chicago is known throughout the United States as having one of the worst public school systems in the country. Although I attend a private school, each day that I sit in my English class, I have a clear view through the windows of the public school across the street, where other students my age who are equally as talented and intelligent as I am are in overcrowded classrooms without the resources and opportunities that I have. At Ignatius, I have had the chance to travel around the world and join exciting clubs. I have also been able to work with teachers who have the time to meet with me individually and be in an environment where everyone is genuinely excited to learn. Ignatius is surrounded by public housing buildings and run down schools and when I look through the window at the other school, it reminds me that others are not as lucky as I am.
College is an important and new experience for many people including myself. Coming into college I think a lot of people have small mindsets including myself towards what takes place. As Robert Frost said “we come to college to get over our little mindedness.” I agree with statement currently being a freshman in my first semester of college. College in general is a life changing experience that comes with a lot of life lessons.
I could place all the blame on the mistakes I made freshman year but that would not help change that I fell short of my goal twice. Instead I had to accept that my hard work was not hard enough and my endeavors were not my earnest. If I had the knowledge and skills that I have now back when I was a freshman, I would have had a higher chance at being a part of National Honor Society. The reality is that I cannot change what I did or did not do three years ago.
Should school be year round with more breaks to improve education? My opinion is no, I think it’s a bad idea to have school year round. Having year round would have a negative impact on the students, they wouldn’t be able to spend as much time with family, and no time for themselves. Having school year round would have a negative impact on the students.
