This writer has never been to an art museum, so I am at loss, when it comes to art. Although, I have always been open to trying new and exciting cultural events. I decided to visit the Fresno Art Museum with my wife, daughter, and grandson. I would be critiquing the exhibit “Frida Kahlo: Through the Lens of Nickolas Muray.” The exhibit is located in the “Hans Sumpf Gallery of Mexican Art.” I found the quite serenity of the room’s ambiance extremely pleasurable. Although, the light was not adequate for my taste. The journey started in the center room of the exhibit and right off the bat, I fell in love with the picture of the very first painting that we came across. Kahlo’s painting “Still Life with Parrot and Fruit” was unequivocally astonishing. The border of the painting was damaged, but that did not take anything away from the picture of the painting itself. The beautiful blue background set off an array of colors in the painting. I found the fruit exciting, especially the watermelon. The parrot was an added pleasure, because I love birds. This was all around a fantastic picture of her painting. I would love to have this painting hanging in my own home.

Muray’s black and white stills of Kahlo were simply put, beautiful. I do enjoy black and white photography, so this portion of the exhibit fabulous. This gave one an intimate feeling to her life. For example, these pictures included her family, friends, and Diego. In addition, there were pictures of personal letters written by Kalho that tells tales of who she was. The details of said letters was amazing, considering the age. The love letters had a beautiful red lip imprint at the bottom of the letter. Furthermore, I found it interesting that these letters were written in English. All around, this exhibit at the Fresno Art Museum was absolutely
