The main character in the book, “ Knights of the Hill Country”, is Hampton Greene, the star linebacker of the Kennisaw Knights football team. Hampton has two motivating factors throughout the story. One, to give Kennisaw their fifth straight undefeated season and two, to stay out of trouble so he can get a scholarship to the University of Oklahoma. The first motivating factor Hampton has throughout the story is to give the small town of Kennisaw their 5th straight undefeated season. Hampton realizes that he is extremely crucial to the town, and wants to make history and go down as a Kennisaw great.
The “Erik Fisher Football Dream” is there ever anything about Paul? “Tangerine” by Edward Bloor is about a teenager named Paul who struggles with finding out what happened to his eyes that made him legally blind. Paul has visions of this that happened to him in the past that he doesn’t remember, he usually gets these flashbacks/visions when he sees something that triggers it. In the beginning of Tangerine Paul is confused and angry.
My book Kid Owner by Tim Green is about a kid named Ryan who loves football. Ryan’s mom doesn’t agree with Ryan about football. Ryan wants to play football but Ryan’s mom wants him to keep playing soccer. Ryan’s never met his father and when Ryan’s father had passed away he had left Ryan the Dallas Cowboy’s. Ryan somehow has to find a way to keep the team.
He and some of his brothers were beating people up. In a result, they ended up with some bruises. This was his first of many incidents that would later occur. After that, he headed to southern Wyoming. The next year he and his brothers were staying a horse ranch in Montana.
Friday Night Lights, by H.G. Bissinger, follows the Permian Panthers, a successful high school football team in Texas, while they do everything in their power to win the state championship. Near the beginning of the book, we learn about the star running back on the Panthers, Boobie Miles, and how he has college coaches all over the state who are offering him scholarships to come and play for them. Unfortunately for both Boobie and Permian, Miles injures his knee before the season even starts which forces the team to fall back on the second string running back. Boobie’s knee injury was not the only thing that bothered him, he deals with a lot of racial discrimination also. “The black population in Odessa was quite small- about 5 percent” (102).

Rick states that he had 6 guys commit to him but didn 't go they went straight to the NBA. Because they didn 't want college they wanted to start making their living. And gives a resolution if the league didn 't want them to go straight there.

Boobie Miles Friday Night Lights By H.G. Bissinger Boobie Miles is a very talented individual which results in him being very cocky and arrogant. He also seems to be very self-absorbed, only caring about what happens to him, and what he has to do to succeed.
He then travels back south, and goes west through New York, Pennsylvania, and Ohio. He encounters truck drivers, and old friends here. This part was one of his most memorable. He then holds this route all the way through South Dakota and on to Washington State. But before he makes it to Washington State, he stops in Chicago to see his wife.
