Friendship. Friendship is a relationship of mutual affection between people. Having a friend is a magical thing, knowing you have someone to talk to and support you through everything that is going on in your life. Everyone in the world has a friend. It doesn’t matter if it is a human or animal. Everyone has someone to talk to. How it relates to the book Of Mice and Men by John Steinbeck, George and Lennie are both different inside and out but still have this unbreakable bond with each other. Also various examples pulled from the articles that were found they all talk about the friendships that they had. In the article it says, “Our desire is to do great things, but to also push each other to the point we have now reached,” Alex wrote on Facebook. “I’ve also been working hard in school all my life, just so I’d be able to make sure I could take care of my mother”(Classmates Explode With Joy the Moment Teen Learns He Got Into Harvard). This shows that your friends support you through everything. Friendship is about supporting each other and to motivate each other to do great things. Yes, friends may have their ups and downs but they always come back to each other and support each other through it all. In the book it says “They had walked in single file down the path, and even in the open one stayed behind the other. Both were dressed in denim trousers and in denim coats with brass buttons. Both wore black, shapeless hats and both carried tight blanket rolls slung over their shoulders”(Steinbeck4). This is the first introduction to Lennie and George. It shows that they're not equals: one man is walking behind another. However, they're dressed identically. You don’t always have to be the same as your friend, that’s kind of boring. Not everyone is perfect, everyone has their flaws and that is what friendship is like, you may both like the same things, do the same things and stick together but be the complete opposite of one another.
The fifth quote is from the book Of Mice and Men by John Steinbeck. In the book it says "With us it ain't like that. We got a future. We got somebody to talk to that gives a damn about us. We don't have to sit in no bar room blowin' in our jack jus' because we got no place else to go. If them other guys gets in jail they can rot for all anybody gives a damn. But not us” (pg115). This quote shows that Lennie may not know what goes on around him but he knows that friends stick together. George and Lennie always go to place together. They are never alone like the other guys they work
