What is the most important thing for people in nowadays society? The most realistic answer probably is money. Money is the key factor for the capitalism; the more money one person can make shows the ability this person maintain, and people also show their love to families through the amount of money they make, instead of the amount of time they spend on families. The issue of humans in nowadays is paying more attention to money and efficiency can be found in both Arlie Russel Hochschild’s “From the Frying Pan into the Fire,” and Susan Blackmore’s “Strange Creatures”. According to “From the Frying Pan into the Fire,” Hochschild introduces that capitalism becomes a religion that are wide spreading among humans. The religion of capitalism is “encapsulation of our family ideal allows us to accommodate to what is both a pragmatic necessity and a competing source of meaning” (186). People are fighting for better lives by making more money for the families, Hochschild addresses that American society is deeply believe in the value of time and money, which acts like a religion. “A 2:00 to 2:45 play date, 2:45 to 3:15 shopping trip, 3:15 to 4:45 visit to grandma, and so on” (190). Humans lives are planned ahead and “family time could be called ‘hurried’ or ‘crowded’ (190). People start to plan their lives and save time for working and they believe in this principle and make it look like a religion. Imitation also plays huge influence of it “parents seemed to encourage children to develop schedules parallel to and as hectic as their own” (190). This is an example of imitation that not only parents are being efficient for saving time for works, but also teaching their children to be efficient in their lives of studying or playing. Imitations make the idea of capitalism passes through the generation to the next generation. And the idea of the more money people have made, the more love they showed to the family, which is realistic in the society. Lesser people are showing their love through spending time with families because capitalism acts like the religion that makes people believe that the money is the key factor for showing love. Imitation makes this religion continue spreading. “When you imitate something else, something is passed on. This ‘something’ can then be passed on again, and again, and so take on a life of its own” (34). The power of imitation makes people from all over the world share some commons, because it passes from one person to the other;
