The experiment was conducted on the second Wednesday of April 2016 (April 13, 2016). The approximate time was 10:30 through 13:10 including the walk over to the arboretum, final instructions, experimenting, eating, and walking back to Troy from the Arboretum. This experiment took place at the 25 acre Fullerton Arboretum (1900 Associated Rd, Fullerton, CA 92831) which is located in a chaparral region. The Fullerton Arboretum, housing over four thousand types of plants, is in California State University of Fullerton, an university close to Troy High School. The 30 cm plastic ruler was used to measure the size of the leaves, the pencil was used to record the date on our table, the colored pencils were used to color the leaves for the leaf rubbing, the standard copy paper recorded the leaf rubbing; the cameras took the pictures of the leaves and myself in front of the trees, the clipboard held my lab packet, I recorded the data on the lab packet, and the leaves were used to measure and perform the experiment. I first developed my hypothesis on the characteristics of leaves in different zones. From there, after the walk to the arboretum, my partner and I first decided on three trees to test our hypothesis on. After we chose our first tree, we would first begin by using the ruler to measure the size of a random leaf on a tree that seems to be about the same size as every other leaves. After we measure the leaf we would record the size on our lab packet. Moving on, we looked at the leaves’ colors. We observed around three to five leaves’ colors per tree and
