Blackfish Blackfish, directed by Gabriela Cowperthwaite, documents the history of Tilikum, a killer whale with a killing streak. Several ex-SeaWorld trainers, eyewitnesses, and a former whale catcher share their perspectives on killer whales in captivity and the attacks; their viewpoint is that the whales have undergone psychosis due to poor living conditions and treatment. Killer whales should not be held captive in their current conditions. In an early scene, a former whale catcher explains the emotional trauma he had when he caught whales such as Tilikum.
