The question “What is a serial killer?” can thoroughly be dissected; but to keep it simple a serial killer is a person who murders people due to abnormal psychological gratification. Serial killers date back from the time of 144 BC. Prince Jidong would go on wild expeditions of killing his subjects and stealing their belongings purely as a sport. Years later, the spree of killing still countinues. In the 1970’s, America was introduced to who would become the worlds most famous serial killers, John Wayne Gacy and Ted Bundy. While they both committed horrible crimes, which many would say deserved execution, Bundy and Gacy, should not have gotten executed. Bundy was bought up thinking his grandparents were his parents and that his biological mother was his sister. At the age of 3, Bundy carried aroound knives and thought nothing of it. As a teenager he began stealing things from others. Bundy didn’t recieve enough attention from his family and never grew to have people skills. It was when Bundy left for college and fell in love he was at the peak of his life. Sadly it didn’t go well. Around this time many women began to go missing. These many women resembled his college girlfriend. Bundy began to move to different states where women also began to go missing. His spree of kidnapping and killing had began. Before long police caught up with Bundy, leaving his own evidence behind of bite marks on one of his victim. He was then given the death penalty. When a child is born they are suppose to recieve attention and love. Without these key aspects in life a child is clueless to the world. They don’t grasp the same concepts as those who are raised correctly. Ted bundy and John Wayne Gacy did not have correct parental figures in their life. They did not have what a normal child should have. They suffered emotionally and did not undersrtand how to relinquish their feelings. Bundy and Gacy didn’t have anyone to confide in and they were not happy with themselves. They thought since they are not living a happy life that they should go ruin and destroy other families apart. They did not know any better. Was not it enough that these serial killers were off of the streets? Execution was not meant for Gacy and Bundy. They deserved to be punished for their actions, but not in the way
