Who was a non-violent civil rights activist that believed in nonviolence? Mahatma Gandhi was the primary leader of india's independence movement and on January 30, 1948, the 78-year-old Gandhi was in new delhi’s birla house on his way to a prayer meeting when hindu extremist Nathuram Godse shot Gandhi three times in the chest. His assassination was unjust because he did not respond to anything with hate or violence, and he was a peaceful man. For example he was the primary leader in non-violent civil rights movement. If someone broke his bone or tried to kill him he would not respond with violence. All of this information is important because it is stating that no matter what the cause was Gandhi was a non-violent and peaceful man. If anyone is threatened or hurt you should do your best to respond with love and peace instead of anger and
