The inheritance of our parents' genes affects humans' and organisms' traits and intelligence. When children are born, they inherit their parents' traits, which might be a widow's peak, nose and mouth size, hair color, eye color and size, etc. Additionally, geneticists often use the words "genotype" and "phenotype." The word genotype refers to the genes that an organism inherits from their parents during the pregnancy. On the other hand, the word phenotype refers to the physical characteristics of an organism. As a result, this is why we might look similar to our parents because we have the same genes and traits as our parents. In addition to and speaking about genetics, our intelligence and thinking process may be determined by our parents' genetics. …show more content…

Therefore, our ways of thinking is to be determined by our parents' traits and not by our environment. Furthermore, the traits of our parents and ours are copied inside of the DNA, or also known as Deoxyribonucleic Acid, or "double helix." The DNA molecule is a long "ladder-like" molecule that consists of the alleles that are used to determine organisms' traits. The numbers of chromosomes inside the DNA is also very important in determining traits. A number greater than the normal number of chromosomes will cause a child to have a disorder. On our DNA molecules are four components, which are called nucleotides. These nucleotides are adenine, thymine, cytosine, and guanine. The DNA molecules form a twisted ladder shape when the nucleotides pair together in long chains. Therefore, we inherit our traits from our parents, who have had passed down
