Today our main headline is on the assassination attempt on our president Abraham Lincoln. Last night Abraham Lincoln and his wife went to go see the performance that was showing in the Ford Theatre since it was a benefit to Abraham lincoln himself. The name of the play was “Our American Cousin”, Written by Tom Taylor.
This commemorative coin was based off of the Capitol building in Colonial Williamsburg. The Capitol was where Patrick Henry gave his speech Caesar Brutus. This speech was very inspirational and important to the colonists. This is why on the front side of the coin Patrick Henry’s face is shown along with his famous words “Give me liberty, or give me death!” These very inspirational words are a sign of liberty which is why on the back is the Grand Union Flag.
It is very easy to take out country and or freedom for granted. For those of use that have always lived here and never seen anything different it is almost impossible to to fully realize how good we really have it. We were not given anything we have today however, it took an extreme amount of hard work and dedication by the leaders of our past. It is impossible to discuss how this country achieved what we have now today without talking about George Washington. Our first presidents, the man who really pulled our country together and helped lay the ground work that we still live by today.

He uses repetition and anadiplosis to repeat his message and drive what he is saying into his spectators/listeners heads, as well as pre-empting, which makes things sound way more serious and crucial and get back at them for what they 've done. Roosevelt 's purpose was to make the people of the U.S.A. to want to fight the Japanese empire in order to get them back for what they 've done to us. The American revolution is one of the most important events in American history. It had taken millions to make this happen, including General Washington. Washington was an outstanding general to had brought hope into the minds of his people in a time of despair. Inexperienced in running such a huge army he made the impossible, possible. He had led his army through the crucial weather, disease and several hardships.
President Franklin D. Roosevelt was in office through one of the most challenging times in American history; the great depression. This was a time when jobs were lessening and the country was in need of a boost. Being our president, many people look up and rely on the actions of him. In this specific time, President Roosevelt needed to put himself in the position of a fellow American citizen as well as remain his leadership role as president. To give the country the little boost of positivity, President Roosevelt constructed his broadcast that aired on October 22, 1933.
In the book of His Excellency: George Washington by Joseph J. Ellis, the author introduces Washington, the Father of the United States, in a fresh portrait focused on the characters of Washington. This book is an impressive biography of Washington's remarkable dedication to the United States history. According to the author, George Washington is an omnipresent figure as he was growing up, described as the man in the moon who was aloof and silent. This book focuses on Washington's wartime service which became some of his major contributions to the United States, rather than merely telling the true story of Washington, its main thesis is focusing on analyzing his contributions and how his governorship had affected the American history. This shows how the the slaves want to be free from their masters, and live freely, just like everyone else. The Patriots idea of freedom drove them to take on the biggest, baddest, most terrifying army and the time. They had put up with the king for too long and wanted to cut their relationship with England.
No American today could imagine a country without a president, or without Washington, because if the patriots had not had George who was “…determined…to cross the river & make the attack upon Trenton…” (Washington), the United States of America would not even exist. George Washington was born on February 22, 1732 in Virginia (Knott). Washington never got beyond elementary school, however due to a skill in math, got a job with Lord Fairfax, a powerful businessman (Knott). After inheriting Mount Vernon because of his brother’s death, Washington joined the British Army (Knott).
George Washington and Barack Obama had different views about how America would be like. On April 30, 1789 George Washington gave his inaugural speech and oathed to be the first president of the united states. On January 30, 2009 Barack Obama gave his inaugural speech. During George Washington speech senator William Maclay of pennsylvania remarked that George Washington looked agitated and embarrassed. During Obama's speech he looked confident and he acknowledge the crowd very well.

Kennedy The reason I chose JFK is because he was a president that everyone had loved. They loved him for his views on America and it tragically ended with assassination in Texas.
Imagine you get to work and you clock into to your job which pays twice the pay as all of the jobs your friends and Famliy have but when you get there you sit in a tiny station where all day long you do the same thing over and over agian. This job would be quite a degrading boring horrible job would it not? Now that you know that your job is horrible but you get twice the pay you need to know that you work for Ford Motor company and you will be twisting the wrench on all five screws on the front of the car about 50 times a day for the rest of your life. At least you weren 't doing it for less than 5 $ per day like everyone else.
Intro Growing up, we have all heard the many stories of George Washington. While many recognize him as one of the most important figures in U.S history, others only recognize him by one of his multiple accomplishments; he was the 1st president of the United States. With presidency comes the variety of duties and responsibilities, the main being a president 's inaugural adress. In George Washington 's very 1st inaugural, he uses three rhetorical strategies: personification, amplification, and last but not least, repitition to convey what he truly wants for the States and why a successful Constitution should be in order.
