The Gerlach and Ely Design Model is ten steps to an effective learning environment. There are two major areas of the model: content specification and specification of the intended goals. For this, there will be step-by-step planning and specification on attainable goals. After the specifications are set, the educator must take a look to see if a pre-assessment is needed before teaching the material. There may be an adjustment for some individuals so that the student can learn successfully. (ISTE - T2c) According to the model, steps four through eight is based on one another and it can influence which area is most needed when designing. Then, the final steps are the process of evaluation through the student’s performance and it can provide feedback
