In the book Night by Ellie Wiesel there are many words that can describe the horrible events that went on during the Holocaust. There was a tremendous amount of evil that the Germans displayed during this time period. One of the most soul opening quotes from Ellie was, “Yes, I did see this, with my own eyes … children thrown into the flames" (Wiesel 51). The people in this book that committed these crimes were always so corrupt. It is extremely wrong to kill any person, but it is especially wrong to kill babies that still have so much more of their life to live.
All of these combined made for a vivid depiction of the heinous acts that took place. I found the audio recordings of Berchtold to truly disgust me. The way he ruined the childhood of this young girl just to carry out his deluded fantasy is sickening. As I sat and watched the documentary, I found myself in utter disbelief. Multiple times, I was rather angry at the parents passiveness when it came to their daughters safety.
How could a person be so cruel to dozens of Jews and watch them die slowly? The Nazi soldiers had no mercy for the Jews even if they did nothing wrong to them. Why would someone do something so unspeakable? Decades since, the world has made an effort to learn from that tragedy and educate new generations to prevent such an event from happening again. The forms of dehumanization seen during the Holocausts were at a level of extreme that society, luckily doesn’t see on such a scale in our modern world, but the world does still struggle with providing everyone their most basic rights. Currently in Delhi, India, children are being stolen and forced to work in sweatshops. Their parents are told they are going to receive a better education at a distant school, while in reality the children sit in a cramped 6ft by 6ft room creating Christmas decorations for as much as 19 hours a day.

That's just another reason we need to teach kids about the holocaust, but don't stop there. We need to teach them about all the genocide events that took place. They need to learn about the flaws of their world, so they can fix them. In conclusion, the holocaust should be taught in schools because, it teaches students about the thin line between good and evil, it was a major event of history in the 20th century, they should know the past early so they can prepare for the future, and it helps them deal with the world they live in
It changes my opinion about all of the Germans. I realized that you can 't blame a whole race for some peoples actions. It made me smile a little that some of them are not all evil killing machines. The theme is a sign and faith for humanity. I think this is a sign for all Jews, there is still hope and they must hold on to faith.

At first they show you how the Germans made the Jewish people just slightly uncomfortable but nothing to inhuman. Then they branded them and made their name and life center around one piece of paper and what they could take in a suitcase. This was the first stage of breaking down the Jewish people. Most of them only went with it out of fear and hope that they would be safe. Next they moved them to a strange location and this took away their sense of home and security.
