Ginny Blackmore sings and makes a passionate mix of contemporary R&B music, mainstream pop music and ballad. She doesn’t play any instruments at all. One of of Ginny’s double-platinum selling single ‘Bones,’ a very brutal and honest description about unrequited love from a girl’s perspective. Bones written and developed with the use of 4 different chords (G, C, F, Dm) and the use of these chords is more complex than a standard pop ballad song. (Chords: V, I, IV, ii are present throughout the verses, pre-chorus, chorus and bridge.) It is in the key of C. And this powerful pop ballad is incredibly written in its lyrics ‘And all I’ve ever wanted was for your damn arms To wrap themselves around me and say Hey girl you’re the prettiest thing my eyes have ever seen, Come and lay your bones down with me…’ She uses her chest voice to sing ‘Bones’ which is why she belts out her notes and barely hear her sing in Falsetto. There are quite a range of instruments being played in the background such as the flute, mixpad which uses a lot of synth, drum set, guitar and some string instrument. The song contains a verse, pre-chorus, chorus, a second verse, pre-chorus, chorus, bridge and then last chorus. The song is about a woman who is involved with an unkind man and doesn’t get the the love she’s worthy of. She told radio.com that although the emotions in the song are her own, the story is a mixture of things her close female relatives and her best friends have told her through the years. ’It just turned into this ball of womanhood that I’ve experienced,’ she said.
