Ever since the beginning of time, men have always been perceived as superior to men and society nowadays continues to treat women as such even in the workplace. Women nowadays are affording more opportunities than in the past and the role of women in the workplace and society have changed over time but a glass ceiling is still imposed on women in the workplace resulting in women being clustered in the same levels in their organization charts or same types of jobs as certain positions or types of jobs are reserved mainly for their male counterparts (together), Woman who have graduated with bachelor degrees have less chance than men with the same degrees of getting certain jobs, especially in male dominated industries due to their gender. In a world where we have come so far with our achievements, why is there still a glass ceiling barring women from achieving their goals? Historically any of jobs or positions in the workplace especially positions of higher authority have always been reserved for men. Perhaps normally from the cultures or social norms most of us have grown up with where men are seen as ancestors even in the household and perform the more sophisticated, since we born and the socialise automatically assigned the roles to identify us in society as culture context expects. Man suppose to do harder jobs while women do the less heavy and easier housework, roles have always been assigned based on gender. Despite the opportunities being there and affirmative action efforts women still seem to find it harder than their male counterparts to beyond to the executive positions in the workplace.
