Glenn Theodore Roosevelt was one of the top chemist in the world. Have you heard of such a name before now that I bring it up? If not, then you will finally get the chance to learn about Roosevelt and th e things that he had accomplished to help us now in every day life. Not to even mention that Roosevelt won the noble peace prize in chemistry in the year of 1951. At one point, Roosevelt was considered to be one of the top chemist in the Country. Seaborg was born in a little town called Ishpeming in the state of Michigan, on April 19, 1912. Herman Theodore (Ted )was the name of his dad and Selma Olivia Erickson Seaborg was the name of his mom. He had one sister, Jeanette, who is two years younger. When Glenn Seaborg was a young little boy, the family moved to a big area called Los Angeles County in the state of California, moving into a neighborhood called Home Gardens. Originally his name was spelled Glen but once he had gotten older he changed it to Glenn. Seaborg kept a daily journal or notes from 1927 until he had a stroke in 1998. As a kid, Seaborg was a sports fan and liked watching movies. His mom suggested him work in the library because he had a very special thing for books and was incredibly smart. He did not even think about looking at science until his eleventh grade year when he saw his teacher named, Dwight Logan Reid, a physics and chemistry teacher. Seaborg graduated from high school in 1929 at the top of his class and received a bachelor of arts degree in chemistry at the University of California, Los Angele or also known as UCLA. Seaborg went to the University of California, located in a city called Berkeley, for doctoral research. He always looked at Frederick Soddy's work investigations dealing with isotopes and contributed to the discovery of discovered more than 100 isotopes of different kinds of elements. Two men named
